can I tell you about my weekend?
It was great. Basically it consisted of a 14.5 hour audition for a modern piece by a guest artist. though really it was rehearsal as well. It’s Rodger Belman and he’s spectacular. His movement is amazing and he’s a great teacher. He’s very specific about everything but he gives such good feedback and there are a million things to think about. And I just want to dance just...

– Teller, of Penn and Teller, in a letter at http://shwood.squarespace.com/news/2009/9/21/14-years-ago-the-day-teller-gave-me-the-secret-to-my-career.html
Strangely, advice as good for writers or musicians as it is for magicians.

For the first time in my life I am freaking out because I don’t have a clear cut idea of what I want to do when I grow up - which apparently is now. There are so many things I want to do that I can’t focus on one and I’m afraid I will end up doing nothing. As it is all I seem to do right now is work at a job where I do chores for other people and sit ups and...

On a human level, I’m more than willing to eventually forgive Chris Brown, once he seems genuinely remorseful and changed (which, at this point, he definitely does not). But there’s no obligation...

If I don’t succeed in comedy I think I’d want to become a bartender because it’d be a great way to make money and I’d get to meet so many interesting people that way. Being a bartender has always been one of my top career choices and I don’t care how much of a waste of a college education it is.
man I wanna be a bartender! I think it would be...

I’M NOT OKAY WITH CHRIS BROWN PERFORMING AT THE GRAMMYS AND I’M NOT SURE WHY YOU ARE
I’m sick and tired of people acting like it’s no big deal that Chris Brown will be performing at the Grammys.
I’m frustrated that the mainstream media is covering this story like it’s any comeback story, like an exiled prince’s return to a former glory, like this is another political timeline —...
